About Us
A Legacy of Timeless Grace
The Bottomley House is a meticulously preserved piece of architectural history, originally designed in 1915 by the acclaimed architect William Lawrence Bottomley. Renowned for his neo-Georgian style, Bottomley created a residence that blends grand scale with domestic intimacy, a quality that defines our sophisticated lodging experience today.

In 1996, the residence was thoughtfully moved and restored to become the elegant centerpiece of the Jepson Alumni Center. Today, we serve as the University of Richmond’s premier boutique B&B, extending warm hospitality to visiting staff, distinguished speakers, and discerning travelers seeking high-quality, tranquil accommodation.

Beyond the privacy of your room, The Bottomley House invites you to enjoy our richly appointed common areas—extensions of the home's historic charm and hospitality. These graceful spaces are designed for relaxation, quiet reflection, and socializing, reflecting the building's legacy as the centerpiece of the Alumni Center.
