2- What troubles the narrator about the old man is his very pale vulture eye. The narrator stated that whenever the old man looked at him with that eye, his "blood ran cold."

3- Everynight the narrator opens the old mans door looks in the room and uses the lantern to look at the old man sleeping. He did this to see if the old mans eye was opened or closed. If his eye was open, he could of went through with the murder of the old man; if the eye was closed, he could not.

4- The narrator does fell guilty about the murder of the old man. He hears this own heart beating and he believes it is the heart beart of the old man. The narrator is extremly nervous about being caught so when the police officers arrive, he fancies, "a ringing in my ears", now he cannot keep silent with the murder, so he confesses of his crime.
